Mothers Day voucher

Thanks Fiona for the movie voucher which I shall really enjoy using. With the Greater Union cinema just up the road, its a lovely gift and will think of you each time I go and as being a senior, I will get 6 movie entries.

Anzac weekend

John had one of his boys lunches and here we see Rodney, Jo, Darrell, Martin and Anna having a BBQ. They all had a great time. Meanwhile I took myself to town and saw two movies -The Last Station and Beneath Hill 60 which were really good. I wandered about as there were many peoples due to The Anzac marches and of course, the celebrations at every pub I passed. A kilted Scottish band played at a pub then proceeded, I suspect to the next one down George Street.

Pineapple

I was given a pineapple plant when I left work which I planted in the ferny area. When put in (Jan), the pineapple was small and green and the other day it had to be cut, as it was toppling over. It was delicious. I replanted the top of the pineapple to see if that will grow and maybe next year will have two.

Easter weekend

Today John and I caught the train into town to see the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prize paintings. Even though the queues were long, the people moved along and had plenty of time to view the collection. Some were terrific but others not. After this we walked down and around the gardens and had lunch in the cafe. Tomorrow Hawthorn is playing so I am working in the garden for the afternoon.

On Tuesday, I and the ladies went into the Dendy and saw - Brothers - good movie and as it was raining we decided to miss the Botanic Gardens and headed straight to the Mitchell Library to see the exhibition.

Today Henry is being christened and hope all have a good day.

Sunday 28th

On Monday after the dentist I treated myself and went to the movies. Saw Shutter Island and enjoyed the movie that has a twist at the end.
Thursday I spent the morning at Rockdale library and heard Katherine Howell introduce her new book - Cold Justice and gave an intro into her background which was that she was for 15 years an ambulance paramedic and a number of her experiences do appear in her books. She has almost finished her 4th book of which I havent read any yet. When I visit Hurstville library in a couple of weeks I will have a look.
John didnt work on Friday so off we went to the Dendy to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was excellent even though we both had read the book.
Today we drove down to Thirrool for their beach festival and spent a couple of hours wandering thru the market stalls and along the beach. We bought the two metal birds which will live under the gum tree. Very nice day.
