Monday 31 December 2012

We walked from Bondi to Clovelly and then on to Coogee, a couple of the best beaches in NSW.  Happy New Year to all.

Thursday 27 December 2012

We walked 8k today from Concord West to Sydney Olympic Wharf on many of the pathways through Olympic Park.  We climbed Bay Marker which was a steep hill with the path winding around it making it a long walk up.  Then on to the brickpit ring walk which is built above the old brick works which was abandoned due to a species of frog.  After lunch at one of the many bbq parks, we headed off for the ferry but just missed it.  As it only runs each hour, we caught a couple of buses one of which went through a new suburb of Newington.

Our birthdays were celebrated at the Sailing Club in Sans Souci, the meal mediocre but the view fabulous.

Tuesday 6 November 2012

This is the last update as John's eye is fine and healing well.  Thanks for everyone's concern.

A lovely walk along the path from Kyeemagh to Monterey, we had to dodge a lot of bicycles, but it was fun.

Thursday 1 November 2012

We walked from Bondi Beach to Coogee on Monday via the Sculptures, rather than the weekend but it still was busy with people.  It was a lovely day for walking.  Usually we have stopped at Tamarama and caught the bus back but we continued and passed a few beaches John had not been to.  At the end, it was fish and chips in the park - delicious

The French movie - Intouchables - was terrific, well worth seeing.

All clear, what a relief

Thursday 25 October 2012

Day one after the second operation, no pain but a bit more blood covered area.  You can see it does touch the cornea.  Result tomorrow.

We had a lovely walk from Fairy Meadow to Wollongong along bush track, then beach and finally thru town to the station.  The park where we started was where Katrina landed from her parachute jump a few years ago

Thursday 18 October 2012

Today after my massage John met me at Central and we walked down Pitt Street to Circular Quay.  I spent my Dymocks voucher (Mark M.) and bought two books, the new Jeffrey Deaver and Jo Nesbo.  I"m in for an exciting read.  Bought a couple of Chinese cakes to have with our coffee and saw one of the biggest ships that docked  yesterday, there were lots of tourist milling about.  We crossed to the other side so we could see its whole length.  Instead of taking the train home, we decide to catch the bus to Kingsgrove and what a hairy ride that was.  The top photo is the clock tower above Central Station.

Tuesday 16 October 2012

One day after and the patch is off.  There has been no pain so no pills but its seems an endless run on the drops but thats OK as there are no problems.

Monday 15 October 2012

It was over in minutes and now John is on the recovery trail.  The result will be known on the 30th.

Friday 28 September 2012

Today we started at Erskineville station and walked thru small back streets to Australian Technology Park
where the train works were.  Its all converted to offices with lots of reminders of the old carriage works.
We continued thru Redfern to Centennial Park to the Paddington Reservoir which has been renovated and is a place for people to have lunch and relax.  Its a cool and lovely place.

Thursday 27 September 2012

The boys across the road (Swans fans of course) put up the red and white work tape across all of our
front fence, even across to John's work van.

Saturday 22 September 2012

A before and after shot of John watching the Hawthorn and Adelaide game.  Now he will be off to Melbourne during the week as John has been guaranteed a seat to the final....
