Walking group

Friday we travelled by train to Rhodes. An easy interesting walk near the Parramatta River through gardens, historical sites - Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway, Yaralla House and river parks. Almost 12 ks in total and then catching a bus (new route) from Burwood to home. I am no looking forward to the Manly Dam Circuit.

Computer day

On Wednesdays I am back to the one lesson and I learnt how to address an envelope with to and from addresses. I know its simple to those who know but it was something new I learnt.

Tuesday Movie Day

Two excellent movies were Mother and Child and Lou. Lou, an Australian movie, had us all in tears so there were lots of sniffs and blowing of noses. After this I showed Helen and Margaret miniture Sydney under glass on the floor of Customs House foyer.

The Rocks

Last Monday, through Probus, Wilma and I with 30 others took a two hour walking tour of the Rocks. We were lucky to have a knowledgable guide who took us thru lanes and areas I haven't been or known about. After the tour, instead of going with group, we had a pub lunch but as it was raining, it had to be indoors. Customs House at the Quay has had the floor as you walk in changed to show a replica of today's Sydney under glass and you can walk on it. Very interesting.

Computers/Walking

I'm sure computers have a mind of their own. After my lessons on Wed. I sat down at home to review the paperwork given. Learning Word info and then transferring it to Open Office has been baffling sometimes but this time, after perseverence, I managed to get the symbols into the header and colour them. So now I can have a personalised header on a letterhead. I wonder when I will use this.

Thursday I was off to Spotlight as they had a 20 percent sale off everything, even 'sale' items. With no time limit I wandered about for a couple of hours, and I bought some cotton yarn to start making a summer bolero.

I have just come back from the annual general meeting of the two walking groups down at Dolls Point Reserve, where in the sun, I could have spent hours.

Movies

Over the past two weeks I've seen - Mademoiselle Chambon, The Secret in Their Eyes and Harry Brown. I enjoyed the first two mentioned , but Harry Brown, John and I saw at Moore Park, was really frightening with lots of violence.
I've had computer lessons both at the library and at the Seniors Club and am learning a little and look forward to tomorrows lessons.
Haven't done much else as my cough is still driving me mad even after the visit to the doc. It will go in time.

Knit In at ABC

Last week the ABC in Haymarket had the knit in, where hundreds of people gathered and either knitted, crocheted or sewed the squares together. I had made the above squares and crocheted them together. Next time I will sew together as they become flatter and easier for packaging to send overseas. I only dropped in to see what was happening there and went on to the dentist which is just around the corner.
